I dont understand runes...

Can you only use one rune on a weapon?
Do they work on any weapon?
Can i get it back after i use it?
If i can get it back will my wepon downgrade?

I dont understand upgrades...
Can you use a fiery hilt on any sword and make it a dragon fiery sword?
What does these upgrades upgrade?

And any more info you can post please do. Ty.

runes are used on armor and gave to be different as you cant use 2 of rhe same one

swords would use an upgrade like a hilt

edit

5 armor pieces 1 rune per piece
